COMPANIONS

Companions are admin played characters that will accompany you in your journey.

Detailed information on each companion will be available as they're unlocked, with new ones appearing throughout the story. They will participate in quests and help progress the story, apart from having their own personal lore that can be unlocked through interactions and bonding. Additionally, they'll also be of aid in combat.

Companions are the first to die in a dangerous situation, and so players should be careful in their choices to keep them alive.

Only companions in the Plenitude and Euphoria paths have skills, which players may request to be used through RP with a charisma roll.

Though they start with their own backstories and personalities, they will also grow opinions and be affected by the direction of the story. Companions may become a better or worse version of themselves based on these, which may significantly alter their character as the story progresses.

They may approve or disapprove of certain PC actions during quests, which can alter their perception of said characters; Though RPing with them is the main form of gaining their affection, behaving in a way they disapprove of is an easy way to be disliked. The amount of times you interact with a companion does not dictate their closeness; each companion is their own unique individual with their tastes and personalities. This applies especially to romantic interactions, which will be developed based on character chemistry.

Like playable characters, most companions will be available for thread roleplay outside of quests, which can be requested by players in the proper channel. They can also be interacted with during quests (if present).

OTHER NPCS

A couple of other special NPC characters will appear throughout the campaign, and similarly have their own profiles. The main difference between a companion and an NPC is that the companions are of equal standing to players as normal cats and dogs, suffering their same fate and developing alongside them, while NPCs usually refer to mysterious entities and beings.
