OVERVIEW

The Pantheon is the basis for their society. Though faith may vary individually, all citizens must be believers of the gods. Atheism is not an existing concept for these animals, given how rooted their culture is in their beliefs. Worshiping of each god varies greatly between Polis, with some being more respected or adored.

IUSTITIA
Basilissa of Order

Weigher of Hearts, The Morning Star, The Oath Giver, Apate (Nation of the Exiled)

The Order stands above all as the power that reigns on a tight leash. Acting as a direct opposite to Chaos, the Goddess represents the absolute authority needed for law; the necessary scale that allows for society to flourish and develop in an organized manner. As justice itself, she sees into others' very hearts and is the only one fit to judge their fate.

Daughter of The Sky and older sister to Kenos and Theritas, Iustitia was the one to pass guilty judgment upon the Original Sin, becoming the one who may judge even the gods themselves. Thus, the task of weighing the citizens’ worth is also up to the Goddess, who decides whether they’ll join The Sky or be grounded forever in The Underworld.

Law is concrete, and foresees most situations. For prosperity, there must be a clear division on what is right or wrong, legal or not.

KENOS

Basileu of Chaos

The Primal Hunger, The Starless Night, The Original Sinner, Erebos (Nation of the Exiled)

Fallen God

Considered a cautionary tale, Kenos is the direct opposite of The Order, Iustitia. The Chaos represents the primitive destructive desires of a predator, such as disorderly dominion, senseless violence, and lack of reason; the joy of sinking your teeth into flesh, dismantling your prey into pieces, and allowing your innermost desires to be fulfilled whenever and whatever they are. Dominating and breaking down what has been established by others and doing whatever you must to achieve power; these are some of the concepts that exemplify Chaos.

Basileu of Chaos solidifies a strong warning to carnivores, but especially dogs; to never give in to these desires, nor allow your primal and uncivilized side to go unleashed. The dark urge that lurks within must always be contained.

Once a son of The Sky, Kenos is the youngest sibling to Iustitia and Theritas.

As the Original Sinner, Kenos cannot be worshiped. The Empire regards him with caution, a fallen god who lost his place in the pantheon and was forever exiled to somewhere below; the underworld, where he may never even set eyes on the sky.

THERITAS
Kyrios of War

The Bloodstained Strategist, The Willing Sacrifice

The War is a form of order applied in the unavoidable matters of violence; he gives up himself for the greater good, tainted in crimson so that the others may remain clean. Conflict is always bound to exist, and there must be someone willing to dirty their hands in finding a resolution for it.

The War is unforgiving, yet it does not act recklessly. Each movement is calculated, and every transgression will one day be punished.

Once a son of The Sky, Theritas is the middle sibling to Iustitia and Kenos. Having taken on a portion of Kenos’ burden for the original sin, Theritas was transformed into a giant tree that will forever be rooted in the ground, able to watch the skies but never again touch them.

Though officially considered on the same level as the other gods for having reached redemption, the punished god carries with him a heavy reputation. Polis focused on the War are often cruel and bloodthirsty, and so the ones that follow less violent paths tend to regard this God and his followers with certain caution...

HESPERUS
Kyrios of Conservation

The Evening Star, The Mediator, The Neutrality

Watching the world with eyes unlike the others, devoid of bias and weight, Hesperus acts as a mediator of forces and stands between Order and Chaos, believing both are needed at different levels to maintain what is natural and balanced. Without Chaos, there is no need for Order, and without Order, there is an excess of Chaos; on the slightest tip of a scale, the leash that holds tight may choke or break entirely. For The Conservation, there is no absolute right or wrong; There is no absolute at all. To form a decision, one must first analyze the situation thoroughly without preconceived biases- even if one must go against the rest.

Son of The Sky together with The Sun.

OPHIUCHUS
Kyrios of Plenitude

The Golden Wand, The Wise Soul

The pantheon's wisest, Ophiuchus is a god who represents the thirst and ambition for knowledge and learning. Without them, society cannot develop, and mistakes from the past may be repeated. Though often associated with medicine and philosophy, they're the symbol of all things related to erudition.

Once the main worshiped god of the Polis of Areté, the Plenitude is still a reputable and important path with strong devotion due to the Polis’ large academia.

Ophiuchus was originally not one who stood as an equal to the gods. Born from the earth together with the sea, they yearned for The Sky and reached divinity by besting the Pantheon in a battle of wits.

associated symbolism: snakes, plants, wings…

BACCHUS
Kyrios of Euphoria

The Cup of Plenty, Heaven's Jester

A god associated with culture, the arts, and hedonism. The negation of pain and indulgence in the pleasures life has to offer are strong traits of The Euphoria, who squeezes a bitterly sweet jar of juice out of the smallest lemon available. Known as the party hoster of the skies, Bacchus is a figure for joy and indulgence.

Though Euphoria may seem vain from the first view, its indulgence comes together with the ambition to better your artistic crafts and entertain an audience to focus their eyes only on you; being at the top, and relishing at that recognition. Thus, those who devote themselves to the god are rather hard-working– even if they may try to convince you otherwise.

Born from The Sky together with The Moon.

associated symbolism: wine, cups & chalices, bread…

CARYATIS
Kyria of The Hunt

The Far-Shooting, The Careful Hunter

Representing the carefully crafted skill of tracking, hunting, and farming, The Hunt is a goddess associated with good harvests and plenty of prey. While light on your feet and accurate in your strike, never shall you starve even in times of need. To know which battles are worth fighting is also an important trait of The Hunt; rather than pride or stubbornness to push ahead, the goddess is associated with peaceful survival.

Daughter of The Sun together with The Moon, the goddess changes the seasons together with the rhythm of feeding; it is by her hand that specific prey and farming are opportune or not in each weather.

associated symbolism: bow and arrow, the moon, wheat…
